MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
The Outreach Ministry takes the message of empowerment beyond the church walls in order to share UTC's message of empowerment and the unlimited potential of all people

 MINISTRY TEAMS

Joy Tree Program: Delivers two Christmas gifts to at least 600 children of people who are incarcerated. Gifts are also given to the children of at least 30 families living in the Vista Verde community and 50 children in the foster care system.

 Pen Pal Program: Provides UTC Pen Pals to people in the prisons and jails..

 GED Prep (High School Equivalency Preparatory Program): Members of this team prepare inmates to take the High School Equivalency Program.

Mentorship Program: Volunteers mentor juveniles in the Miami-Dade County Juvenile Detention Center.

Worship Celebrations: Volunteers on this team conduct worship celebrations throughout the year at the South Florida Reception Center and the Hollywood Work Release Center

Better Living Classes: These classes are conducted in jail/prison facilities to teach people practical tools that will help them learn how to live better lives.

 Project Homeward Bound: Through collaboration with Positive Images, members of this team mentor people who are coming out of prison to encourage them to stay out.
Healthy Choices: Volunteers on this team empower Domestic Violence victims and survivors. Also educate our community on the destructive impact, domestic violence has on our children, families, congregations and work environment.
SATELLITES
Satellite centers are designed to offer more accessible Better Living classes, spiritual counseling, and pre-marital counseling to people who live outside of the immediate Universal Truth Center area.

South Miami Empowerment Center

Adopt-A-School: This program was initiated by the City of Miami Gardens and gives churches a opportunity to partner with schools in the City. UTC adopted North Dade Middle School and provides: 1. Volunteer tutors 2. Sponsorship of incentives for students at $50/student/semester 3. Host a North Dade Middle School Sunday to acknowledge selected students and staff.

 Haitian Initiative: Congregants sponsor the education of students in Haiti.
Guardian AD-Litem: Volunteers advocate for neglected and abused children in the courts

Habitat For Humanity: Volunteers assist in building homes for low income families in need of a decent and affordable place to live.
