OUTREACH AND FREEDOM MINISTRY

Ministry Description:
The Freedom Ministry empowers people who
are or have been incarcerated to develop the skills
that will allow them to become productive members
of the community. Volunteers extend their service
beyond the church walls in order to share UTC's message
of freedom and unlimited potential. They work selflessly
in the effort to redirect men, women, and children
to the Christ within.
Ministry Teams:
Joy Tree Program: Delivers
two Christmas gifts to at least 300 children of people
who are incarcerated. Gifts are also given to the children
of at least 30 families living in the Vista Verde community.
Pen Pal Program: Provides
UTC Pen Pals for at least 50 incarcerated people.
GED Prep (High School Equivalency Preparatory
Program): A team of six or more people
conduct this program in at least three facilities.
Each year, the goal is to award a minimum of 10
diplomas.
Mentorship Program: Volunteers
mentor juveniles in two facilities: the Miami-Dade
County Juvenile Detention Center, and the Broward County
Juvenile Halfway House.
Worship Celebrations: Volunteers
on this team conduct monthly (12) worship celebrations
throughout the year at the South Florida Reception
Center.
After Care Program: Volunteers
on this team assist men and their families make the
transition from incarceration to freedom.
Better Living Classes: These
classes are conducted in three jail facilities to teach
people how to live better lives.
SATELLITES
Satellite centers are designed to offer
more accessible Better Living classes, spiritual counseling,
and pre-marital counseling to people who live outside
of the immediate Universal Truth Center area.
