SERVICE MINISTRY
Director: Virginia Clemons
"Don't just do what you have to do to get
by, but work heartily, as Christ's servants doing
what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on
your face, always keeping in mind that no matter
who happens to be giving the orders, you're really
serving God." Ephesians 6:6-7 (The Message)
Ministry Description:
The Service Ministry creates and maintains a warm and friendly environment for
the members and friends of the Universal Truth Center. Volunteers are encouraged
to find a need and fill it. We assist with every aspect of the daily operation
of the Center, work to ensure a pleasant Sunday worship experience, and pull
out all the stops for special activities and events. By placing people on teams
according to their gifts, skills, and interests, we invite everyone who would
like to contribute to this ministry to give of themselves as they are willing
and most capable.
Ministry Teams:
Clerical: Volunteers work
during the week to collate and assemble bulletins,
announcements, and handouts for worship services and
other events.
Hospitality: Participants
on this committee graciously greet, host, and serve
Center members and guests during worship services and
special events.
Parking Lot Attendants: Attendants
welcome and assist drivers entering and exiting the
Center parking facilities and keep the traffic flowing
smoothly.
Ushers: These volunteers open
the Center doors with smiling faces to greet attendees
during worship services and special events. They offer
guidance and information and distribute bulletins at
the entrance to the sanctuary.
Setup: Members of this team
ensure that all activities and events are properly
outfitted with the required seating, tables, displays,
and other equipment. Their behind-the-scenes contributions
are an essential part of the UTC experience.
Gift Assessment and Time Tithers: Everyone
who would like to volunteer their time, talents, and
skills at the Center is encouraged to participate in
a Giftedness Workshop. These sessions and follow-up
consultations are designed to help individuals find
a meaningful and rewarding place in which to serve.
